Estimated value

Not a sellable food species.

Do not sell. Psilocybin is a controlled substance in Canada, the US (except licensed programs), Ukraine, and most of South Asia. This card exists so you do not confuse it with deadly Galerina and so you understand the law.

Description

Small, hygrophanous, sharply conical cap often with a nipple (papilla), on grassland — never on wood. Bruises blue. Purple-brown spore print. Included only for safety identification and legal status. This app does not teach harvest, dosing, cultivation, or sale.

Where it grows

Unimproved pasture, grassy hills — not dung, not wood.

How to find it

Do not hunt this to consume or sell. If you are IDing a small brown grassland mushroom, note: wood habitat = think Galerina first. Pasture + blue bruise + purple-brown print is the classic Psilocybe pattern — and still illegal to possess in most places.

How to pick

Do not pick for intoxication or commerce. Photograph and leave if you are studying ID.

Medicinal notes

Psilocybin is in licensed clinical trials for depression in some countries. That is not a home-use license. Do not self-medicate with wild fungi.

Psychoactive / controlled

Contains psilocybin/psilocin. Causes profound alterations of perception. Risks include panic, psychosis in vulnerable people, accidental ingestion of deadly lookalikes, and criminal charges. This guide will not describe effects as a how-to.

Law

Illegal to possess, cultivate, or sell in most of the regions this planner covers (Canada CDSA Schedule III; US Schedule I except licensed research / limited local adult-use rules that still do not cover wild commercial harvest; Ukraine and India controlled). Oregon/Colorado licensed programs are not a foraging license. Do not use this app to traffic fungi.

Lookalikes

  • Deadly galerina

On wood, rusty-brown spores, no blue bruise. Same size class. Fatal.

  • Other little brown grassland mushrooms

Dozens of lookalikes. No app makes this 100% safe to eat.
